Michael's Original Luffa Washing-up Scouring Pad.In the Philippines, luffas are commonly used as washing–up scourers.
Like all plants, luffas absorb CO₂ when growing.
As a natural product, Luffas are fully biodegradable at the end of their useful life. Simply put them in your compost bin and let it biodegrade.
If everyone switched to compostable luffas, we would save the equivalent of 150 double-decker buses of landfill a year from synthetic scourers.
Your purchase supports organic farming practices and communities in the Philippines.
How to use...
In water the luffas become supple instantly
Don’t be afraid to scrub away, they are very durable.
Dry them out and keep them fresh between washes by hanging up with the hand-made string loop.
They will last longer if you do this.
They are suitable for all the washing-up. As is normal practice, baked-on food should be soaked first .
The luffas clean out as you use them and retain their natural clean colour. If food particles get stuck in the fibres, a good swish around in the water will normally clean away most of them.
If its needed, you can wash them in the dishwasher or washing machine
Depending on how often they are used, Michael’s Luffas will last between 1 and 3 months. They are not a novelty, but a real, cost-effective replacement for non-biodegradable plastic scourers.
